The Pyramids Principle (Or: The Power of Illustration)

·

Green Day on my Sennheisers. Dookie. (Those were the days.) It’s dark outside. My creative hours.

A tickling Bee-Beep interrupts Tré Cool’s drum solo. New message on LinkedIn. Why not?, I think. Switch the tab, open the message. My lids not blinking for a moment.

Read the headline, eyebrows drop. One of ???????????????????? InMails. Words like “business opportunity”, “excellent”, and “outsourcing”. Sent by a gentleman from Egypt.

My eyes hop over the sentences, and land at the post scriptum. “We built the pyramids. Let’s build your business.” Eyebrows rise. Eyes go up again, read the pitch.

Subject still not relevant to me. Pitch could be better plotted, too. But these “pyramids”…

I imagine a dude wearing an Egyptian Nemes and sunglasses. Telling me: Man, we got Giza ramped up in 120 years; we ramp up your workloads on AWS in 12 minutes. I would listen to that gentleman.

I responded.

“No, thank you. But here are a few thoughts.” Added 15 lines of feedback on his pitch. How to make it better. Top of the list: “Move your end to the beginning!”

What are ???????????????? pyramids?
Make them ???????????????? beginning.
